Why is it that when I have a job, I tend to blow money too quickly?

So, I finally secured a job over at Staples as a Copy Center Associate… yay… ??? It’s only a temporary job (about 9-10 months) until my co-op from school kicks in (co-op is when the school finds a company related to your studies and gets you a paid position with the company for a few months. Think of it as getting experience before graduation).

I love it to far – extremely slack environment and management and great hours to fit my schedule. Since I know nothing about papers and related goods and those big office printers, I had a lot to learn during my first week at Staples. I picked it up fairly quickly and I feel somewhat confident. This coming Saturday will be my first shift without a senior partner… super nervous!

Last week, and today, hasn’t been the greatest. For personal reasons, the past week I’ve barely eaten anything or slept (which makes thing even crappier because my shifts starts at 7:30am/8am) and been crying nearly everyday. I felt like giving up on Friday but fought through this weekend and held onto hope. All I know is that I’m an emotional wreck right now and I really hope that this hope I’m holding onto and the pain I’ve been through will be worth it in the end. I wouldn’t know what to do if things didn’t turn out great, to be honest.

Since my mental state was haywire, I literally went on a shopping spree almost everyday the past week. The amount of times I’ve been to Starbucks and reloading my card is ridiculous. I’ve been spending far more than I usually would when I go out to eat – whenever I do feel like eating, it’s always sushi and I overspent on my sushi meals.

I also ended up shopping for clothes and make-up… which I felt like I really shouldn’t have done.

A cut out dress from H&M. I ended up getting the purple one because I felt it looked better and I have waaaay too many black dresses.
I got a new eyeshadow palette too… look at all those neutral colours! I love the glitter in it and best part is, it isn’t too much when I apply it!

I guess… I can get back on my savings path once everything is fixed and better… :/

What I Wore: 20th Birthday Dinner

This dress was literally $10 from Urban Planet! I love body con dresses and lace. The white and pink colour schemes made it so flirty and cute… I can definitely see this on Valentine’s Day too. Shoes were just a pair of black wedges.
I straightened my hair. My make-up was light and you can’t see much of it due to the lighting and my bangs. But my lips were pink, eyeshadow was pink and blended with black on the outer crease. I used a little bit of blush and only wore light powder foundation all over my face.
I’m not a make-up person but that night I really loved how my make up turned out and that made me want to play around with make up more.

Another Shopping Spree

Sooo… I guess today is a UK holiday…

Seeing as I’m not from UK, I’ll improvise.

Besides, if you ask me, I personally hate bank holidays because to my luck, I just need to do a lot of banking during the times my bank are closed for a holiday or event sort of thing… like really? My mind doesn’t tell me to do it on a normal weekday, it always tells me to do it on a holiday.

But, today, after school, I went to the mall to kill some time up before meeting up with someone who wants to buy a few camera accessories I had left over.

This crop top was only $3.50!! I’ve seen it before for full price which was I believe $10? And I finally saw it on the sales rack and decided to pick it up for the season… plus, it’ll motivate me more to work out, haha. I love the back detailings!
I found this cute dress on the sales rack too and decided to try it on. I normally don’t own that many floral things, let alone a dress too but I wanted a summer dress and this was going for only $10. My favourite part would probably be the straps – I love how they swapped from the regular straps to a fabric tie strap.
This is my first low-high dress! It was on sale for only $12 and seeing that these dresses/skirts are in style, I decided to give it a try. I loved the way it looks, love the colour and of course, the free belt… because I suck at accessorizing my outfits.

I wanted sushi but just a few minutes ago, I found out that my go-to sushi place doesn’t deliver anymore 😦

Boo hoo!

Whenever I do outfit post, I usually like to scrapbook them… don’t ask why, I don’t even know, haha.

I also like to do digital scrapbooking and I might go through some old photos and see what I can do with them πŸ˜›

Honestly, my blob of text isn’t even significant.. but you can view the full size
and see what I wrote about.

Collective Haul: Joe Fresh, Value Village, DVDs + Others!

Over the past few weeks, I went to shopping sprees and mini shopping trips. Ugh, it’s so bad because I want to save for school and summer :(! But I always see these cheap stuff, it just makes me want to roll my bank card! Either way, this post is image heavy (okay, NOT thaaaat much… but still) of just the random stuff I’ve purchased recently.

Let’s hope that I don’t spend anymore and save up my next few paychecks!

From Joe Fresh:
Joe Fresh is so underrated… great stuff for a great price! Really modern stuff, love love love it.

A bright pink rain poncho! Since Spring is closing in, it usually means RAIN in Vancouver! I’m not making the same mistakes as before… not going to be soaking wet!

I bought 2 of these because they were only $8 and 100% Cotton! I got one in  a slightly darker green than this and a light purple πŸ™‚

Yeeeee buddy… bright yellow rainboots! Ya’ll gonna be jealous when you see me in these and my feet are perfectly warm and not soaked, haha.

From Value Village:
When I went to shop at VV, I didn’t expect to pick so much. I just wanted maybe one or two jackets for Spring but ended up grabbing almost everything I picked off the rack. Regardless, it was still better than buying all these in full price!

A light jacket/windbreaker from Gap! Originally this is about $80-$90 but got it for $17.99! Bonus: it’s waterproof too! Perfect for the upcoming season.

A Roxy jacket for $4.99. I probably only owned like 2 Roxy stuff but I’m still a fan of their brand. I just have a hard time finding Roxy stuff in Vancouver.

A TNA light jacket for $12.99. TNA stuff usually retails to about $60+. I’m not a big fan of TNA and to be honest, this is the first TNA thing I own but… the jacket did look good on me, haha.

Hollister hoodie for $6.99. I’m not a Hollister fan but I realized I don’t have a pink hoodie (and I want a pink hoodie!) so I ended up grabbing this. Really light and perfect for the warmer days or when I go to work.

A summer dress for $9.99. I saw it on a rack and was iffy about it but my friend and the dressing room associate both said it was super cute and for $10, it’s not that bad. Looking back, I probably wouldn’t have paid $10 but whatever, it’s still a cute dress!

A SUPER COMFY sweater cardigan for $7.99!! All the ones that I got are either too light or too much piling so I get cold but I can’t wait to use this for those summer nights on the beaches πŸ™‚

Finally, I just purchased these random stuff:

From Call it Spring! (aka Spring shoes store). I’ve always wanted a cute backpack for going out because I was getting tired of carrying bags or having such a small bag… loooove it!

From Old Navy. Honestly, it doesn’t look that stiff in person, haha.

I get a lot of DVDs on staff prices so when they’re cheap, they get cheaper for me. I found a lot of triple sets so I grabbed them instantly. Just a few DVDs I picked up from Best Buy, Future Shop, Superstore, HMV and eBay.

Aaaaaaaaaaand that concludes my collective haul of random purchases. Like I said, I’m thrilled I got these but I gotta stop spending now 😦

Until next time!
